Following our “Getting to know Our Mavericks” series, let us get to know more about Ramesh, our Principal Quality Advocate. Read on to find out more about his Mavericks experience and some fun facts about him!
What is your role at Mavericks and what does it involve?
My Role in Mavericks is the Principal Quality Advocate. My role typically involves working with the client’s team as well as our internal team.
What is a typical day like for you?
My day starts with a standup meeting where we as a team talk about stuff we have done in the previous day as well as our work plans for the day. We also talk about any impediments that might affect our productivity. This meeting is also a good place to ask for help from others as well as quickly share any critical updates.
Usually when I am working for a client team, I have my own list of tasks to do that are specific to the client environment. As a QA, this usually means that I test user stories, prepare test data for product owners and end user testing, maintaining the sanity of the CI/CD pipeline(s) and much more. I also participate in the sprint ceremonies of my client team as well.
How has your experience at Mavericks been thus far?
I really like the team bonding and the commitment that each Mavericks has towards getting things done. I like the closely connected feeling (even though many of us are remotely working). There are also a lot of exciting things that are happening as well such as AWS training sessions, working on MaintainSimple as a product, the website revamp etc.
What motivates you at work everyday?
The joy of learning and sharing with my peers as well as helping my clients achieve their business goals keeps me motivated.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I love cooking and I can cook close to 40 vegetarian dishes.
What is the motto you live by?
Challenge the status quo, learn and share every day.
How has working with our clients / on client projects been like?
So far, it has been an incredible experience with GovTech where the team is open minded and there is a lot of learning and sharing every day.
What has been the most challenging experience at Mavericks thus far?
In the recent past there has been some flux in the PS team with people leaving the organisation. Though this has created some challenges, it has also created new opportunities for me to work with a new set of people.
What is your proudest moment / achievement at Mavericks?
With Mavericks, I got the opportunity to work with the GovTech team where I was able to make several improvements in the day to day practices and processes as well as the automation framework. I am happy that this has resulted in an overall increase in productivity of my team.
What is a project that you are looking forward to taking on in the near future?
While I am extremely delighted to work with GovTech, I would like to work on projects that are technically challenging. This could mean working on modern technologies or working on complex functional and business domains as well.
