Do The Right Thing At Mavericks

The thing I learned at Mavericks is simple: do the right thing. It's not just a platitude; it's how we create software that's enduring, builds trust, and makes a lasting impact. We are a group of problem solvers who put our hearts into not just working out solutions, but solutions that shine.

Writing good code is what we do. Deadlines can be overcome by cutting corners, but do we? Bad code isn't worth the headache it will cause later. So we write good code; clear names, tidy structure and comments that make sense. It is not to say we don't stray from a strict code-writing guide, but to respect the next person who touches that code, including ourselves.

When things go wrong, we own it. We do not pass the blame; it's all about being honest. We dig deep, fix it and share what went wrong. That is how we learn to be better.

Doing the right thing isn't always the easy way. Sometimes that means making hard decisions, having many discussions, or even working late nights. But when we deliver something we are proud of, something that is robust, simple to use, and aligns with our values, it will be worth every bit of the effort.
