Following our “Getting to know Our Mavericks” series, let us get to know more about Deepak, our Senior Consultant and Seeker. Read on to find out more about his Mavericks experience and some fun facts about him!
What is your role at Mavericks and what does it involve?
I am a Senior Software Engineer at Mavericks. My role typically involves actively participating in design discussions, implementation and making sure that we deliver our services in a timely manner with good quality.
What is a typical day like for you?
Most of the days will include most of the following: Scrum calls, coding, doing code reviews, desk checks, design discussions etc.
How has your experience at Mavericks been thus far?
The Mavericks experience has been wonderful thus far. There has been a lot of learning and it is a good place to learn and explore things. The leadership team encourages learning as well.
What motivates you at work everyday?
Everything that we do! The top 2 things which I like most are code pairing and TDD (Test Driven Development).
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I binge on chess playing. Whenever I find the time, I will just open up a chess game and start playing, be it even 2 minutes. I have achieved a chess.com rating of around 1800 now!
What is the motto you live by?
Keep learning and help others to grow.
How has remote working been like?
It has been a good experience but I prefer a mix of working from the office and working from home.
What are you looking forward to most once the Covid-19 pandemic eases up?
What is your proudest moment / achievement at Mavericks thus far?
There have been many. Some achievements include successfully migrating our MaintainSimple app from GCP to AWS. Also with having learnt web and mobile app development quickly, thus being able to make informed decisions.
What is a project that you are looking forward to taking on in the near future?
Nothing specific in mind, I am ready for any challenging project irrespective of domain.
